Stop the Pop

A can of soft drink, on average, contains the equivalent of seven teaspoons of sugar - almost half your daily allowance. Cutting out at least one can of pop a day, and replacing it with water will reduce your sugar intake by 49 teaspoons in a week. There are 25 calories in a heaped teaspoon; so that would reduce your calorie intake by 1225 calories.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day

Don’t skip breakfast if you are trying to lose weight. Studies show that eating a proper breakfast is one of the most positive things you can do if you are trying to lose weight. Breakfast skippers tend to gain weight. A balanced breakfast includes fresh fruit or fruit juice, a high-fibre breakfast cereal, low-fat milk or yoghurt, wholewheat toast, and a boiled egg.
